Aaron Sober is an artist and current MFA candidate at University of Nebraska, Lincoln. His training as a potter has taken a variety of forms. After working for several years as a production potter making high volume garden pottery, he entered the Core Fellowship program at Penland School of Crafts for two years. After leaving, Aaron set up a studio in Minneapolis and began selling work full time. He has exhibited at a number of national craft shows including the American Craft Council shows is St. Paul and Baltimore and the American Craft Exposition in Evanston, Illinois. His work can be found in a number of nationally recognized galleries including the Grand Hand Gallery, in St. Paul, MN, AKAR Design in Iowa City, IA, and online at Schaller Gallery, and the Left Bank Gallery on Cape Cod.
After more than ten years out of school, Aaron has decided to return and is pursuing an MFA at the university of Nebraska, Lincoln. He is developing a new body of work involving personal narrative, as well as making salt-fired functional ware.
